CAROL is a 2015 British-American romantic drama film directed by Todd Haynes, from a screenplay by Phyllis Nagy, based on the novel 'The Price of Salt' (also known as Carol) by Patricia Highsmith. Set in 1952 in New York City, the film tells the story of a young aspiring photographer and her relationship with an older woman going through a difficult divorce.
CAROL was selected to compete for the Palme d'Or at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, where Mara tied for the Best Actress award. The film has received critical acclaim, and has earned six Oscars nominations. It opened in limited release on November 20, 2015 in the United States, and was released in the United Kingdom on November 27, 2015. In Spain it is released on February 8th, 2016.

Because it’s a beautiful story about the love between two women. It does not falls into the topics, it just shows love as it is: pure, intense, coming from nowhere and irrational.
We love it because, even it’s set on the 1950s, nor Carol nor Therese have a doubt about their feelings, and they led themselves be driven by them. Even though there’s a moment in which Therese ask her friend Richard “have you ever been in love with a boy?”, to try to check if falling for another one of the same sex is a common thing, she doesn’t get stuck on that, and she just let things flow. She listens to her heart, and she follows it, without hesitation, without any doubt about any kind of identity. It’s not about who you identify with, it’s about who you fall in love with. LOVE is always the same. And that’s why we love so much this film, because it’s simply about LOVE.
Cate Blanchett is exquisite as Carol, and Rooney Mara is so sweet and tender as Therese.

Porque es una bella historia de amor entre dos mujeres. No cae en los tópicos, simplemente muestra el amor tal y como es: puro, intenso, irracional y sorprendente.
Nos encanta porque, aunque está situada en los años 50, ni Carol ni Therese tienen dudas sobre sus sentimientos, y se dejan llevar por ellos. Incluso aunque hay un momento en el que Therese le pregunta a su amigo Richard "¿alguna vez te has enamorado de un chico?", para intentar comprobar si enamorarse de alguien de tu mismo sexo es algo común, no se queda estancada en eso, y simplemente deja las cosas fluir. Escucha a su corazón y lo sigue, sin ninguna duda, sin plantearse nada sobre ningún tipo de identidad. No es sobre aquello con lo que te identificas, es sobre de quién te enamoras. El AMOR es siempre el mismo. Y eso es por lo que nos gusta tanto esta película, porque es simplemente sobre el AMOR.
Cate Blanchett está fantástica como Carol, y Rooney Mara es exquisitamente dulce y tierna como Therese.
